Modern Frigidaire dishwashers come with a range of sensors that tell you which specific part of the dishwasher is malfunctioning and/or in need of attention. By following this guide, you can identify what the specific error code that you are seeing means and take action to fix the issue.

Often an error code can be cleared by resetting the dishwasher. To reset the dishwasher, press and hold the cancel button or turn off the power to the dishwasher for five minutes. If the error code persists, then the part will need to be troubleshot and possibly replaced, or a professional called to service the dishwasher.

Frigidaire Most Common Error Codes

Error Code: PF

The Problem: This error code indicates a power failure and occurs when there is a 10% or more drop in power.

The Fix: Check that the voltage going into the dishwasher is sufficient for it to operate. If sufficient, reset the dishwasher by turning off the power to the dishwasher for five minutes or by pressing the cancel button until the error clears.

Error Code: HO

The Problem: Common among old dishwashers, HO means the water is taking a long time to heat up or that the temperature is too low.

The Fix: Running the hot water in your sink before starting the dishwasher to flush out the cold water from the lines should negate the issue. To fix the issue, you will need to troubleshoot the water heating system.

Error Code: LO

The Problem: The rinse aid dispenser needs to be filled.

The Fix: Refill the rinse aid dispenser.

Error Code: CL

The Problem: The control board is detecting that the dishwasher door is not closed.

The Fix: Check that the door is closed. If the door is closed and the error persists, check that the door switches are not faulty. If the door switches are working correctly, check the wiring between the door switches and the main control board. If you cannot find or fix the issue, replace the main control board.

Rinse Aid Dispenser Error Codes

Error Code: rA

The Problem: This error code indicates a rinse aid switch failure.

The Fix: Refill the rinse aid dispenser. If the error still persists, check the wiring between the dispenser and the main control board. If you are unable to find or fix the issue, you will likely need to replace the main control board.

Error Code: RE and RF

The Problem: The rinse aid reed switch within the dispenser is either closed (RE) or open (RF).

The Fix: Try refilling the dispenser to clear the error code. If that does not work, you may need to replace the dispenser assembly.

Frigidaire Water Supply, Heating, or Leakage Error Codes

Error Code: i10

The Problem: The water level has been detected as too low, indicating an issue with the water supply to the dishwasher.

The Fix: Check that the water supply line is not kinked or blocked in some way. Also check that the faucet that controls the water supply has not been turned so that the water supply is restricted or turned off.

Error Codes: i20, i40, and iF0

The Problem: These error codes all indicate that the drain line is restricted or that the filters are clogged.

The Fix: Check the drain hose for blockages or kinks. Also, clean out the filters and area around the sump. Another cause of this error is that the knockout plug in the garbage disposal has not been removed, so the dishwasher cannot drain. Check that the knockout plug has been removed from where the drain hose connects with the disposal.

Error Code: i30

The Problem: There is water leaking into the base of the dishwasher.

The Fix: There are a few different parts to check when fixing this issue. First, check that the pressure sensor is clean. Then check the water inlet valve for debris that may be blocking it or for a damaged valve that will need to be replaced. Lastly, check that the drain pump is working correctly and that there is nothing blocking the drain pump impeller. Ensuring that the dishwasher is level can also solve the issue.

Error Code: i60

The Problem: A problem has been detected with the water heating system.

The Fix: Pressing and holding the cancel button or turning off the power to the dishwasher for five minutes should clear the error code. If the error persists, you will need to troubleshoot the water heating system or call a professional to fix the issue. It could be a fault with the heating element, thermostat, hot water supply (if you have your dishwasher connected in this way), or a fault within the control panel.

Frigidaire Electrical / Control Panel Error Codes

Error Code: iC0

The Problem: A fault has been detected with the electronic control system.

The Fix: Pressing and holding the cancel button or turning the power supply to the dishwasher off for 5 minutes should clear this error code. If the error persists, you will need to troubleshoot the electrical control system or call a professional to fix the issue.

Error Code: UO

The Problem: This error indicates that while in the wash cycle, the main control board is not receiving a signal from the vent assembly that the vent plunger is closed, which indicates that the vent is open.

The Fix: Check the wiring between the vent assembly and main control board. If the wiring is correct, the vent assembly will likely need to be replaced. If the error persists, replacing the main control board will likely fix the issue.

Error Code: ER

The Problem: There is a membrane switch failure, meaning one of the keys is throwing the wrong signal. This error can also be caused by a stuck key or a key pressed for longer than one minute.

The Fix: Check the keys on the control panel and the wiring between the keypad and main control board. If you cannot identify and fix the issue, replace the keypad. If the error persists, replacing the main control board should fix the issue.

Error Code: CE

The Problem: There is a configuration error.

The Fix: Check the wiring connections between the keypad and main control board. Also, check that the correct parts are installed, and replace parts accordingly.

Error Code = tu

The Problem: The Main Control Board has sensed a failure in the turbidity sensor.

The Fix: Check the wiring between the turbidity sensor and the main control board. If you are unable to find and fix the issue, replace the turbidity sensor.

Frigidaire Motor Error Codes

Error Code: UF

The Problem: While in the drying cycle, the main control board is sensing that the vent fan motor is not running at the correct speed.

The Fix: Check the vent assembly and the wiring between the vent assembly and the main control board. Replace the vent fan to get it running again. If the error still persists, replace the main control board.

Error Code = hs

The Problem: There is a hall sensor error that relates to the motor.

The Fix: Check the wiring between the motor and main control board. If correct, replace the motor. If the error persists, replace the main control board.

Error Code: i50

The Problem: A fault has been detected with the drain or wash motor.

The Fix: Reset the dishwasher by turning off the power to the dishwasher for five minutes or by pressing and holding the cancel button until the error clears. If the error returns, you should troubleshoot the drain and/or wash motor or call a professional to service the unit.

Relay Test Error Codes

Error Code: dP

The Problem: This error code indicates that the drain pump has been activated during a relay test.

Error Code: FL

The Problem: This error code indicates that the water valve has been activated during a relay test.

Error Code = rt

The Problem: This error code indicates that the relay/triac test has begun.

Error Code = Sd

The Problem: This error code indicates that the detergent dispenser has been activated during a relay test.

Error Code: UL

The Problem: Displayed during a relay test, this error code indicates that the UL test has been activated.
