How to Replace a Frigidaire Dryer’s Moisture Sensor 134786110

Many dryers keep running until the clothes inside are dry. Instead of using just a timer, they use a moisture sensor. If the drying cycle isn’t matching the load, or the dryer keeps running an endless cycle, you need to replace the part. Order part number 134786110 for Frigidaire dryers and follow these steps:

1. Unplug the appliance or turn off the circuit breaker.

Disconnecting an appliance from its power source is an important safety step for most appliance repairs. This part replacement involves directly manipulating electrical components so make sure the connection is completely broken before you get started.

2. Locate the moisture sensor.

The sensor has to be in contact with the clothes, so you can find it in the tub. Open the door and find the curved strip along the rear bulkhead.

3. Remove the old moisture sensor.

Loosen the two screws holding the sensor in place and then set them aside. One corner of the sensor will have wires connected to the rear of it, so pull the other end of the sensors away from the wall so you can access it. With a flathead screwdriver, carefully pry the wires free from the sensor. Don’t the wires fall through the hole and into the dryer underneath the tub. The wires are short, so you can temporarily tape them to the side to hold them in place as you switch out the parts.

4. Install the new part.

Connect the wires to the terminals of the new part. It doesn’t matter which of the wires is on top or bottom. Once the wires are snugly in the two terminals, lay the sensor flush with the rear wall. Secure it in place with the two screws.
