When I ran the unit in diagnostics I could hear some clacking on the bottom end. Disassembled the bottom end and found the rotor slightly loose. Took apart slider and clutch and reassembled to verify they were tight. Reassembled and tightened rotor. Ran unit and found there was no further abnormal noise, only brief clicking from the slider during normal whiplash motions. If noises return we can replace slider, clutch, rotor and rotor bolt. "Arrived on site to diagnose standalone freezer that was occasionally making buzzing sounds. On arrival unit wasn't making the reported noise. Customer said they can shift the cabinet to make it stop most times. Checked behind rear panel and found the tubing for the dryer and cap tube touching, which can rattle. Insulated and spread the tubing apart to reduce potential noise. When I checked inside the unit i found 2 large bags of ice that were leaning against the evap cover, which can make the evaporator fan rattle when ice is on the evap. Advised to keep items off the evaporator cover and unit should stay quiet. Unit working as designed at this time. Call complete."

"Arrived onsite for refrigerator that is not cooling in rc and I wing in fc. Upon inspection I found that the thermistor tested in range the evap fan was operating the heating element tested good. After this I removed most of the ice from the evap. Upon further inspection I found that the door where not leveled and there not sealing properly I adjusted the refrigerator and got the door to seal up. I check fro wire flow in to the rc and found good flow, I advised customer to leave the refrigerator off for a while in order to get all of the Ive of the evap and the tun it back on and let it run with water bottles in it and see if her temps get back to normal. He said that if the AFFRESH cleaning did not fix the issue, there would be buildup in the tub causing the odor and that the tub and basket would have to be replaced. He stated that extended warranties do not generally cover this because it is not a functional issue and that the customer would be liable fo that repair I they so choose to fix it. Round the unit through diagnostics and found an F7 E1 (compressor not running) error code. Checked all connections at the control and underneath the unit where the wires connect into the cabinet. Found all connections good. Checked voltage going to the compressor and only found 12 V going between the black and white. Check the voltage between the black and chassis ground and found 121 V. Check voltage at the control being sent to the compressor and found 123 V. Spoke to JC and was advised there would be an issue with the neutral wire coming back to the control in the cabinet. I called whirlpool Techline and spoke to Chris SR# 7734317505. He advised that based on my checks that the issue would have to be with the neutral wire going back to the control causing the issue. He advised that the wire would have to be under stress or partially broken an order for this to do this. However, he advised that there are no repairs that can be made and that this would be sent to review. He advised it till the customer they would be contacted with the next 3-5 business days. I found frost build up in the freezer evaporator cover. I put the unit into diagnostics and put the unit into a forced defrost. I found it going the defrost heater turning on. I changed into a basic defrost. I explained to the customer what that means. I found the upper bin broken and allowing the freezer door to shut properly. "Arrived on site to diagnose ice machine that had water leaks and damage found around it, extending into laundry room as well. Took photos of damage and sent to MS. Customer had moved the unit outside. Hooked unit to hose and tested all functions. Found unit drain pump is not running at all, will require a new drain pump. When I inspected the drain setup I found the drain hose is incredibly short and gravity draining into a hole in the floor. Based on the short drain hose it is not fully seating in the floor drain, and for the most part is 'pointed' at the drain hole. The drain hose does not sit very far into the drain, and with a wearing hose that's getting stiffer, it could very easily point off to the side and cause the unit to miss the drain hole when it drains causing the issues. With the way the unit was installed you don't have any simple way to verify the drain line is seated in the drain when it's running. Advised the customer needs to have a longer drain hose so that we can make sure it stays seated in the drain and doesn't come out due to vibration or any other factors. Unable to discern if drain had any kind of vapor lock also causing water to over flow. Advised MS of findings and that unit needs a drain pump / possible control to get it to drain again. "Arrived to inspect intermittent cooling in RC. I found the unit was cooling correctly upon my arrival and no issue was apparent. I verified the RC cooling fan was operating correctly and did note the fan would engage (low current slow operation) when the FC fan was engaged and then fully engaged during its part of the test, but find this an insignificant error. Moving to the three way valve assembly, I found it positively engaging during full open mode, but the full open engagement did not have the expected solid engagement that is usually heard. Further, during test mode 4, the valve could be felt (barely audible) to attempt some type of switching during portions of the test when there is usually no valve actuation. I suspect the electromagnetic actuator is either not able to actuate the valve, or the valve itself is going into failure. I contacted the MFG tech line for testing info that is not contained within the tech sheet and spoke with MFG tech Adrian and advised of my observations File# 7734312900. We tested the coil and found resistance within specifications, but that does not prove the windings have not moved within the housing and creating the weak engagement. After reseating the actuator, test mode 4 operated as normal and the issue may be resolved. I am ordering the actuator and we will contact the CX prior to arrival to see if it is needed. Arrived on site to test unit for not entering clean cycle. Ran diagnostics and found water level sensor not reading water level. Also found reservoir has crack and is leaking. Arrived onsite to replace previously diagnosed parts. Replaced drain motor. Tested unit and unit is not functioning properly. Unit did pass auto test but when trying to run a normal cycle the unit would get stuck in a constant drain. Called tech line for assistance. Tech stated Unit should be on dedicated line.
