Leo explained that in order to replace the part, the Appliance Manager, in the JennAir cooktop, he would need to remove the insulation tape to lift the cooktop out of its hole. However, he would not be able to replace the tape since that was not part of his job. He told me that I would need to buy insulation tape and do the job of putting it back on myself. I objected that the warranty on the cooktop should cover that too, i.e., the warranty should cover everything involved in fixing the cooktop, including insulating it after the job was finished, if required. Then Leo told me that even if he replaced the Appliance Manager, the F1E1 code still may be thrown in the future due to any number of reasons such as power line fluctuations, faulty breakers, etc, in addition to the possibility that the replacement of the part may introduce problems. Leo advised us to notice if any digital devices are blinking the next time the cooktop throws an F1E1 code since that would pinpoint the problem to power fluctuations. However, if that does turn out to be the cause of the problem, then Leo did not make clear what could be done at that point. Leo took no repair action because that is what I decided to do given his explanations. However, I dislike when an expert say to me after warning me of various negative scenarios, "It's your call." That does not inspire confidence from a customer's perspective. No, I much prefer a technician who decisively grapples with a problem and fixes it without needing me to decide for him or her, especially since I am not an expert. However, Leo seemed very conscientious and was friendly and personable. I'm sure he would have done a good job had I decided to let him do it. But, on his advice, I'm going to gather more data on future occurrences of this absurd problem that is a potentially danger inconvenience since it has me having to muck about with the breaker box at the age of 98.

The service men were pleasant and seemed to have identified and corrected the problem before they left, but in less than a weekbut the drawer cannot be opened without a tremendous amount of pressure on the foot pedal or by lifting the entire drawer. It's as bad or maybe worse than before.

They charged me 100$ to just come to my house to tell me that repairing my microwave would be more expensive than buying a new one. All of this could be done over the phone because the problem with my microwave was very common. The technician did not really to see my microwave. I decided to pay less and get a new one.

Found sink is backed up and garbage disposal is plugged. Water is siphoning from garbage disposal connection and overfilling dishwasher. Ran garbage disposal and after running it for 30 seconds washer is able to drain but sink is still backed up. Added a high drain loop to dishwasher drain hose. A plumber will be needed to correct draining issue. Recommended that a dishwasher cleaner be used after that has been done to clear out residue in dishwasher.
