REFRIGERATOR KITCHENAID KRSC503ESS01 Arrived on site and tested operation. I found the ice maker working properly and water dispensing properly. Customer has to have the unit up to 4 degrees in the freezer to allow water flow to both the ice maker and dispenser. I tested both the dispenser and fill tube heaters and found to be good. Called tech line and spoke to Andrew #7723941017. Per tech line it’s possible that the thermistor is giving a false reading at the lower temp or the lines are freezing in the lower portion of the door. If customer is ok with leaving unit at 4 degrees it is not an unsafe temperature for the frozen foods. Instructed customer that we would need to set the unit to the recommended setting and catch the unit in state of failure to identify issue correctly. Customer asked if he were able to just keep the settings where they are since it’s working. Instructed customer that tech line said it would be ok at those temperatures and he would like to do that at this ti

I found that the unit has been leaking for some time as there was mold built up along the back and side walls behind the unit (photos). Also water damage in the cabinets at the far right of the unit (photos). I turned the water off to the unit and turned the power off. When I went to remove the valve and fitting, I found that the fitting was on the valve right. I was able to turn the fitting without using a wrench. I advised the customer of my findings and they said there has been no other repair to the valve. I advised the customer that this is more than likely an installation error as over time, when I the valve comes on, there is a lot of pressure coming from the water line that the movement of the valve when under pressure could’ve backed the fitting further off since it wasn’t tightened. I removed and rep
