Appliance Express is the only Whirlpool authorized repair in the area. They have been out to my house 6 times previously over the past 3 years to fix this exact same problem. When they came out this time, I was told normally spare parts, determined by the stated problem, are pulled, however, no spare parts were pulled for this job. Among other things, I was informed that the thermistor was in the wrong place and that it was starting to corrode. I'm not sure why this was not noticed in the previous 6 visits for this problem. The thermistor was relocated to the proper place. Currently the thermistor shows it is working properly; hopefully. it will continue to do so. If spare parts had been sent I would have been given the option of replacing the thermistor while the fridge was apart. I was informed that if the fridge does not stop continually running, it will need to be replaced. Replacing it will mean another service call charge and labor. These additional charges would have been avoided if spare parts had been sent. I was also told the evaporator fan that they replaced 2 years ago is also starting to corrode from the water not draining and freezing.

Sealed system pressures were 110 PSI on the high side and a 12' vacuum on the low side. All fans were running and no signs of dye were found anywhere on the unit. Decided to add refrigerant to get unit to proper pressures and replaced pantry UI. Advice customer to give unit 48 hours to reach temperatures and sea ice production. It appears that there may be a very small refrigerant leak somewhere in the system that is not visible but we will need to give unit time to see how it responds. No water leaks present after repairs, job complete"

Found some debris inside the drain and removed it. Put unit back into place and inspected the FC evaporator and found a large block of ice on the evap fan which was causing the loud noise I find where the ice maker fill tube chute was not properly mounted and water was leaking down onto the fan shroud and forming the ice.
