Placed unit in the service diagnostics and found the fill valve not pulling in very much water and timing out due to lack of water flow. Advise customer that I would need to replace the fill valve and that I wouldn’t be able to make sure the water level sensor on the recirculating pump was working properly until that was replaced. After installing the water valve, ran unit through a normal ice making cycle. Found water level sensor only allowing the reservoir to fill up a quarter of the way up the water reservoir. I advise the customer that they may be OK with that but it appeared that the water level sensor was out. Replaced recirculating pump as well and tested unit in a normal icemaking cycle. Unit is working as designed. Call complete."

I found the element illuminating at the back left corner vent. Using my vent test kit, I tested the airflow in the unit and it failed. I demonstrated to the customer the test and then removed the vent from the back of the unit and tested again. The unit passed this test. I checked the element and found the middle plate beginning to warp and crack. I replaced the element and tested and unit is operating/heating as designed. No lint observed during service, job completed. I recommended that the customer have their vents checked professionally for any blockage."

VENTHOOD UNKNOWN UXD8630DYS5 Arrived onsite for retractable vent hood fan malfunction. Upon inspection I found the fan would only blow on high setting. Upon inspection I found no visible issues with the switch. I removed the switch housing and found 3 wire connectors disconnected from the switch. I re wired the switch reassembled and tested unit. The unit now blows on all settings. Job complete.

Upon further inspection, customer advised that he found ice built up in the ice bin and wasn’t be dispensed. They advised that the removed the bin and cleaned it out and haven’t had any issues since. I inspected the ice maker and ice bin and all checked good. I found the chute gasket turned slightly. Adjusted the gasket and advised the customer that if they see the gasket turned it will cause warmer air to flow up into the bin and melt the ice causing it to clump. No water leaks observed during service, job completed"

REFRIGERATOR WHIRLPOOL WRT318FZDW05 Arrived on site for a refrigerator that’s going to much in both compartments. Inspected unit and work area. Customer advised that the issue was not with it over cooling but that there is no cool. Unit has been unplugged for several days and plugged in unit. Found compressor trying to kick on but not starting. Replaced starting device and tested unit. Unit did the same thing and we try to start but would not start the compressor. Tested voltage going to the compressor and found proper voltage going to the starting device. Issue is with failed windings on a compressor. Ordering sealed system repair parts and office will need to contact customer about reschedule date to be out of stock parts.
