I called Whirlpool Techline and spoke to Dave SR# 7731293877. He had me do a voltage check at the terminal block from L1 to neutral and press the push to start button. Found the voltage at 110 V when the unit was idle jump to 244 V when the push to start was turned on. He had me do the same check at the wall and did not find any voltage changes. He advised that based on that alone, the issue was with the power cord neutral dropping out and the customer we need to replace their power cord. Advised the customer of Techline?s findings. Upon arrival customer informed us that the unit was now working but when she was cooking when it first happened, it showed an Err code informing her there was an error in the middle of her cycle. When she went to start any other bake cycles, it would show that code and would not allow her to perform a bake cycle. Tested the unit and found it operating at normal temps.

"Arrived on site for a washing machine with an F7E1 error code. Upon arrival the customer stated the unit had a very loud pop noise and then their entire laundry room filled with smoke. They also found debris and ash inside of the unit itself. They showed me a picture of the error code F7E1 which is for Tachometer missing. I checked voltage at the wall and found it good. The customer said they never had the breaker pop either. I gained access to the bottom of the unit and found it looking perfect. I then gained access to the control and found the control itself looking like it blew up in the middle and caught a small fire in the console area. I found the valve harness, latch harness, and lower harness all burnt. The console was also very burnt on the back as well. I called techline and spoke to Joel and received SR# 771294691. He recommended to ohm out each individual component, replace all of the harnesses, replace the control, replace the console, and any component that ohmd out bad. The drain pump read 1.5 ohms, which is way out of range (it should be 18-22 ohms). The capacitor read open as well, which is incorrect. Everything else checked good. I am ordering the lower and all different upper harnesses, lid lock, cap, drain pump, control, and UI to install. We will also install and bring back the actuator due to the tach error code. Arrived on site for a dryer not heating. I access the coin slot and bypassed the coin start. I ran the unit for 30 minutes monitoring the heat fluctuations at the vent. The unit was cycling well with the vent on and off. The temps ranged from 110?F to 190?F. I found the unit at the time of service running as designed.

"Arrived on site to inspect washer leaking water. Upon further inspection, I placed the unit in diagnostics and checked error codes and found F7E4. Cleared the codes and continued with testing. The unit failed to complete diagnostics. I tilted the unit back and found gearcase oil on the rotor, harness shield, all four panels and on the floor. When I canceled the testing, I found water had leaked out on the floor. I raised the top panel and found water droplets on the back corner of the right panel. I tested the cold valve in diagnostics and then drained the water and found a hole in the internal drain hose (photo). Reassembled the unit and found the leveling feet were not raised when unit was installed causing the rotor to sit on the floor during a heavy load. I advised the customer of my findings and am ordering the gearcase, slider, clutch, internal drain hose and main control (jic). Unit was left unplugged and water source turned off at the wall. "Arrived on site for a refrigerator with the door not sealing properly when closed. Upon arrival the customer stated that they felt the door did not have the same suction it used to have, and that the RC seemed to be less cool than it used to be. They also pointed out a small tear on the outside of the gasket. I found they have not had any frost build up in the unit. Upon further inspection I found the gasket tear to be non functional and no cause for concern (pic in SD). I checked temps and found the RC at 39?F, this being after the door was opened for a while. I found the right door having very little suction when opening and not automatically closing. I found the door sealing fine, but the gasket a little low on the top. I adjusted the door up and it improved. I informed the customer it could also be the closer, but I was not 100% certain, The door was now closing and sealing as designed. I had the customer confirm the door was as it was prior, and they agreed.

Evaporator fan is blowing. Removed evap cover and found that the return vent is completely iced over, and frozen all the way down, and drain is blocked and frozen as well. Removed ice and used some sticky pads to close gaps around air deflector. I advised the customer that if this does not hold, its likely due to the insulation breaking down. They also saw some condensation on the roof of the FC. Verified refrigerator is cooling again, but insulation may be breaking down.

"Arrived on site to diagnose dishwasher that was not draining. Ran unit and could hear pump buzzing and not moving. Removed pump and found a piece of a broken dish wedged into the impeller. I was able to remove the debris. Reattached drain pump and retested. Verified unit is now draining properly.

Arrived on site for a downdraft that was no longer starting or automatically raising when pressing the power switch. The unit should automatically rise and begin venting after holding the switch for a few seconds. I tested the unit and it was not doing this. Upon further inspection I found PB switch physically broken. I replaced the switch and then tested the unit. The unit was still not working as designed. I tested the filter switches and found them working as designed. The vent would start when manually activating them. I gained access to the motor and found no issues with the harness. I called techline and spoke to Austin and received SR# 7731292801. Austin stated that one of the micro switches for the motor and fan must be permanently stuck and said to replace the micro switch assembly. Recommended the customer allow at least 24 hours for the unit to fully cool and approximately 48 for ice to make.

Looked at the vent tube and saw a big amount of lint stuck in the vent tube and quite a bit of moisture water ran out of the unit and the vent tube. Let in house maintenance know that the vent tube needs to be removed and cleaned out to get the unit to dry better.

"Arrived on site to diagnose refrigerator that is sometimes freezing items in deli drawer, and has gasket coming off on freezer. I found the freezer gasket was not staying seated in the door, and would pull out of the cutout in the door every time. I was able to glue the gasket in around the bottom and sides and that should keep it from pulling out. I checked the contents of the RC and FC, and found both compartments are stuffed full of food, and not allowing good airflow. Advised customer they meed to open up the airflow gaps in the RC and FC, and that unit is running hard with no airflow moving. Unit is working as designed, and this can be resolved with items being shifted. Call complete."

I disassembled unit and test high limiter stat and found it ohming at 1ohm. Found heating element at 18ohms and found main control was supplying 120v to all equipment including dispenser. Customer stated they had filled dispenser two weeks ago and it did look oddly over filled when I arrived but couldnt find any physical issues with motor. I spoke with whirlpool techline (Austin sr#7731296964) Austin advised everything from test results was within specs and at this time recommended no further parts or repairs.. call complete

Arrived onsite for ice maker not dispensing upon arrival found ice box frozen over stopping motor due to being incorrectly sealed. Resealed and tested. Unit is now operating as designed. Job Completed.

"Arrived on site for a dryer not drying on anything but delicate, and making a loud noise. Upon arrival the customer stated it was an intermittent issue, and occasionally the medium heat would work. I ran the unit and tested the airflow at the vent with it on and off. I found good airflow to the unit. I tested temps on the inside of the unit on medium and regular. I found them getting to temp and running for an extended amount of time. I gained access to the inside of the unit and found it not clogged with any lint. I found the unit running as designed at the time of service. The unit was not making any excess noise at the time of service either. I was going to quote the customer for the moisture sensor in case it was getting weak,

"Arrived on site for cooling complaint. Found fresh food warm,good air flow from fan ran diagnostics temp reading off to actual temp diagnosed unit will need a new cover that includes both thermistors and the main control ; ordrng 1 W11450890 (Control) and 1 W11395558 (Cover ff)"

Arrived on site to diagnose a refrigerator that is not producing ice properly. Found icemaker overfilling and replaced icemaker. All is working properly at this time and no leaks were found at time of service.
