Arrived on site for refrigerator that has a defrost issue. Inspected unit and work area. Checked the heater and harness for continuity and resistance and found both to be within range and working. Checked the evaporator thermistor and found it reading 3.2 k ohms. I called whirlpool Techline and spoke to Bruce SR# 7732843612. He had me check both of those readings for the heater and thermistor through the main control and found proper resistance on both. He then advised the only other issue could be with him the main control. Replaced both evaporator thermistor and control and tested the unit. The unit began to cooling operate as designed. Advise the customer to call back if any other issues persist.

I pulled the unit out and tested ohms to the bake (28ohms) and broil (17ohms) elements. Both were within range. I tested voltage to the bake element while in Bake mode and its getting 240V. I inspected the bake element and it is good. I tested the oven on Bake at 340 degrees and at preheat my temp,reading was 340 degrees. Temps held in the 340 range not getting higher than 345. I found the control is discontinued. I advised my customer of the temp readings and they were good with it being close to preheat. Cooktop is operating as designed as well. "Arrived on site for a refrigerator that was not cooling. I checked temps and found the FC at 72?F and the RC at 71?F. Upon further inspection I found the start device would click and the compressor would kick on, but would shut off roughly 2-4 seconds later. This would cycle and continue to happen. This indicates a faulty start device. I installed the new start device, but the issue continued. I checked amp draw and found it hitting 15 but very quickly dropping to 8. This indicates bad windings and a faulty compressor. Ordering a SS repair. A SS tech and 2 hour job will be needed. Arrived on site for a refrigerator thats not making ice. Inspected unit and work area. Attempted to jump the icemaker and found that the motor would not turn. Checked voltage going to the motor and found 120 V. Replaced the icemaker and tested the unit again. Found the unit completely harvesting but not filling with water. Checked the valve and found the valve showing proper voltage. Checked the water dispenser and found the water dispenser not dispensing water. Removed the filter and added a bypass cap in the filter head. Found water immediately starting to run from the water dispenser. Jumped across my line voltage to the valve on the icemaker and found water flowing freely into the icemaker. Advised the customer that they needed a new filter for the unit prior to using the ice maker. Call complete.
