Arrived on site for a washing machine with a strong sewage smell. On arrival the customer stated they had a plumber out and eliminated the water supply to the unit. They also found they could smell it in the room behind the washroom. I was able to smell the dead animal/sewage type smell upon entering the washroom. I gained access to the bottom of the unit and inside the tub. I found nothing abnormal. I could also not smell anything abnormal in these areas. I ran a diagnostics cycle on the unit and found the smell was slightly amplified when draining. I found the unit fine and informed the customer of my findings.

"Arrived on site for a washing machine that is going off balance. Inspected unit and work area. The customer advised that every single load they run goes off balance and makes a strange sound. Ran the unit through a high-speed spin and confirmed the sound. Let it out the top while the unit was spinning and found the basket bouncing every which direction. Took to dispense the basket by hand and found that the basket was not spinning evenly. Remove the basket and leveled out the gearcase driveshaft. Found the driveshaft unlevel. Also found the basket torn up at the bottom. Spoke to W and was advised to order the basket, gear case, spanner nut, and suspension. "Arrived on site to clean and check for any needed maintenance on refrigerator. Diassembled unit and vacuum cleaned out condenser coils and rear compartment. Found nothing abnormal, units draining properly. Found moisture building up appears to be cabinet sweating due to breaking down insulation, no actual leaks found and unit does not have a clogged drain.

Arrived on site for range with the crack top. Upon arrival confirm issue and found crack going along front to back of entire glass assembly as well as going through one of the main front burners and in some spots going completely through the glass causing a functional issue with glass to possibly fall into burners if not replace

I noticed the upper rack tine row missing the pivots (WPW10082853) and a positioner (WP8539102), causing them not to stay.

"Arrived on site for a dryer that was not turning and getting a burn smell. I test the unit and was able to replicate this. I gained access to the inside and found the belt still intact. I found the motor bad. However, when I went to install it I found the blower wheel stripped onto the motor and was not able to remove it. I informed the customer of my findings

Arrived onsite for a no cool for refrigerator to possibly replace previous diagnosed sealed system parts. I confirmed that the refrigerator was a complete no cool in both compartments and there was no signs of UV dye anywhere on the unit. I installed a process stub on the compressor and changed the UV drier. I vacuumed the system and charged it with 4.50 ozs of R134A refrigerant and both sides equalized at 58 psi. I tested the unit and found both high and low sides dropping between 35-40 psi indicating there was a high side restriction. I isolated the high side from the drier to the compressor and could not blow thru it. After further testing I found the yoder loop solder joint at the rear of the unit restricted. I corrected the joint and was able to blow thru the line from the drier to the compressor. I soldered the inlet side of the drier closed and was able to blow thru the system to the suction side of the compressor. I tested the compressor and found it not sucking and pumping correctly. The compressor needs to be replaced but the part number I was sent with was for a 00 engineering digit and this is a 02 engineering digit. Ordering W10832994 compressor and W11506635 access valve. RS for Sat 8/20 AM PRO.; ordrng 1 W10832994 (Compressor) and 1 W11506635 (Access valve)

Called tech line for assistance. For the door noise, not being able to duplicate it consistently, tech line recommended monitoring the situation. They also found it would throw the F9E1 error code when it happens. I put the unit into diagnostics mode and found stored error codes F9E1 for long drain and F0E5 for off balance load. I cleared the error codes. I then ran a diagnostics cycle and found it ran through as designed. I tested the shocks and found them as designed. I then gained access to the bottom of the unit and found the gearcase in good shape. Upon further inspection I found the harness damaged for the drain pump. I repaired the harness. I then test the unit again and found it working as designed. No leaks observed at the time of service. If the harness repair does not hold then we will need to replace the harness. No fee collected due to callback within 90 days of a p&l concession. Call complete.

Arrived on site for a washing machine that is not locking the lid. Inspected unit and ordinary. The customer advised that the unit used to lock the lid at the beginning of the cycle and would stay locked throughout the cycle unless paused. He advised the unit still does complete cycles but does not lock the lid at the beginning portion of the cycle anymore. I ran the unit through diagnostics and found no stored error codes. Ran the unit through manual testing on the lid lock and found the lid lock working as designed. Ran the unit through an auto test and the unit ran as designed. I ran the unit through a normal wash cycle and found the unit spinning and filling. I did notice the unit lock when going into the drain and spin portion of the cycle and continued forward that way all the way through the final spin. I called Whirlpool Techline and spoke to Bruce SR# 7734389104. He advised that this is normal operation on these units and that the lid will only lock on the high-speed spins. Advised to make no repairs at this time is advise the customer of the situation. The unit is working as designed. Call complete.

Kirt stated the unit seems to be as designed and that they have had similiar issues, but the unit needs to be opened from the middle only. We found that even when opened from the left side the soft close will still fully close the door.

Arrived on site for the microwave door not closing properly. I inspected the unit and work area. I found none of the interlocks engaging and the door sticking out about 1/8th of an inch. I pulled the microwave slightly out of the cabinet. I found it missing the spacer kit. Allowing the hinges to rest on the shelf not allowing them to fully engage. I tested the microwave out of the cabinet and it closed properly every time. I advised the customer call the installer to have the spacer installed properly. Job complete.

Arrived on site for a refrigerator that is not cooling. Inspected unit and work area. The customer advised they had somebody else to take a look at the unit and found the unit had a defrost issue. They had since defrosted the unit so they could use it. Did confirm the customer still had a little bit of a defrost issue. Took the cover off the control and checked resistance through the bimetal and heater and found 56.5 ohms. Checked resistance through the freezer compartment thermistor and refrigerator thermistor. Found the freezer thermistor at 9.11 k ohms (31?F) and the refrigerator thermistor at 3.85k ohms (62?F). Check temperature in both compartments and found both within range of the thermos. Went ahead and replaced the user interface and control due to the defrost circuit being within range and the thermistor is being within range. Tested the unit and the unit is now working as designed. Call complete.

Arrived on site and inspected washer and found washer was previously at another address 18 months ago. There is a previous diagnosis that the tub needed to be replaced. Builder moved washer to this home before that was completed. Explained to this homeowner that warranty started in February 2021 and although they purchased this house two weeks ago the washer only has six months warranty left of its two year warranty. Washer can still be repaired but homeowner will speak with builder about warranty before continuing.

Arrived on site to diagnose an oven that is not baking properly. Tested all parts and components and found no failures to unit at this time. Adjusted calibration to homeowners preference. No further repairs needed and job is complete.

"Arrived on site to inspect range cooktop burners not functioning properly. Upon further inspection, I tested the cooktop burners and found the front right burner not igniting properly. I found the ignitor arcing sideways and attempted to correct but continued to fail. I removed and replaced the burner head and retested. Unit is operating as designed. No gas leaks detected during service, job completed."

"Arrived onsite for crack concern and found unit with scratching. One scratch in particular was 6 inches and very straight, but still consistent with scratching on cooktop. See pic. Verified with claims that the scratch does not constitute an objective spidering heat fracture required for warranty to apply for replacement. Advised customer on whirlpool warranty and suggested that the customer appeal to customer care for solution."

Arrived on site for oven not heating . Found igniter had burned out . Replaced igniter and valve . Oven is pre heating . No gas leaks detected . Job complete

"Arrived to install previously diagnosed parts. Removed the back cover off unit and found that the air guide card board had moved during installation. I relocated the cardboard back to the correct position. I was able to reuse the plastic clips that hold the air guide to the condenser and tested. Through several minutes of compressor operation, the noise did not return and the unit operated at normal sound levels. I squared the chassis and matched the doors. Operational test good, no leaks observed during service."
