"Arrived onsite for dishwasher leaking from vent and making a popping noise when the door is opened. Upon arrival inspected unit. Ran diagnostics and found no stored error codes. Customer stated unit leaks from vent periodically, every few washes. Popping noise happens only after a complete cycle is done and the door is first opened. Does not do it any other time. Called tech line for assistance. For the door noise, not being able to duplicate it consistently, tech line recommended monitoring the situation. As for the leak, found customer is using double rinse aid. Rinse aid is in dispenser and in detergent pod. Arrived on site for a washing machine not draining. On arrival the customer stated sometimes water will be left in the tub or the clothes will be soaking wet. They also found it would throw the F9E1 error code when it happens. I put the unit into diagnostics mode and found stored error codes F9E1 for long drain and F0E5 for off balance load. I cleared the error codes. I then ran a diagnostics cycle and found it ran through as designed. I tested the shocks and found them as designed. I then gained access to the bottom of the unit and found the gearcase in good shape. Upon further inspection I found the harness damaged for the drain pump. I repaired the harness. I then test the unit again and found it working as designed. No leaks observed at the time of service. If the harness repair does not hold then we will need to replace the harness. No fee collected due to callback within 90 days of a p&l concession. Call complete.

Arrived on site for a washing machine that is not locking the lid. Inspected unit and ordinary. The customer advised that the unit used to lock the lid at the beginning of the cycle and would stay locked throughout the cycle unless paused. He advised the unit still does complete cycles but does not lock the lid at the beginning portion of the cycle anymore. I ran the unit through diagnostics and found no stored error codes. Ran the unit through manual testing on the lid lock and found the lid lock working as designed. Ran the unit through an auto test and the unit ran as designed. I ran the unit through a normal wash cycle and found the unit spinning and filling. I did notice the unit lock when going into the drain and spin portion of the cycle and continued forward that way all the way through the final spin. I called Whirlpool Techline and spoke to Bruce SR# 7734389104. He advised that this is normal operation on these units and that the lid will only lock on the high-speed spins. Advised to make no repairs at this time is advise the customer of the situation. The unit is working as designed. Call complete.

We found that even when opened from the left side the soft close will still fully close the door.

Arrived on site for the microwave door not closing properly. I inspected the unit and work area. I found none of the interlocks engaging and the door sticking out about 1/8th of an inch. I pulled the microwave slightly out of the cabinet. I found it missing the spacer kit. Allowing the hinges to rest on the shelf not allowing them to fully engage. I tested the microwave out of the cabinet and it closed properly every time. I advised the customer call the installer to have the spacer installed properly. Job complete.

Arrived on site for a refrigerator that is not cooling. Inspected unit and work area. The customer advised they had somebody else to take a look at the unit and found the unit had a defrost issue. They had since defrosted the unit so they could use it. Did confirm the customer still had a little bit of a defrost issue. Took the cover off the control and checked resistance through the bimetal and heater and found 56.5 ohms. Checked resistance through the freezer compartment thermistor and refrigerator thermistor. Found the freezer thermistor at 9.11 k ohms (31?F) and the refrigerator thermistor at 3.85k ohms (62?F). Check temperature in both compartments and found both within range of the thermos. Went ahead and replaced the user interface and control due to the defrost circuit being within range and the thermistor is being within range. Tested the unit and the unit is now working as designed. Call complete.

Washer can still be repaired but homeowner will speak with builder about warranty before continuing.

"Arrived on site for a washing machine that is coming too much. Inspected unit and work area. The customer had cut off a cycle because she advised that she thought the unit was filling too much and after she had unplugged it she had attempted to run the drain in span but found the unit still continuing the cycle previous. She then unplugged it and has not used it cents. Was able to cancel out the cycle and get the unit to drain. Ran the unit through diagnostics and did not find any store error codes. Ran the unit for an auto test in the unit ran as designed. I asked the customer about the load that she was washing and she advised that she was washing a king size comforter and some sheets. I did explain to the customer that this unit cannot handle that kind of a load due to the sheer size of the load. I did explain that heavier duty loads including rugs, comforters, quilts, sleeping bags, and things of those nature would cause issues completeing the cycle due to various factors. I did explain the operation of this machine and advise the customer against washing any of these items in this washer. The customer was just worried because every time that she was opening the washer lid and closing and she would find that the unit was filling with water. I did explain that that is normal operation and that any time that she will open the lid in the middle of the cycle, it will fill. I went over the user care guide and the unit is working as designed. "(JM) Arrived onsite to inspect washer not draining excess water at the end of a cycle. I entered diagnostics and found error codes F8E1, F5E2, F0E2, F1E1, F5E3. I entered the service test mode and ran a test cycle. The drain pump turned on and drained the tub as designed. The water valves filled as designed. However, at the end of the test cycle the unit was still filled with water. I manually tested the the drain pump outside of the diagnostic test cycle and it is working as designed. Unit will need a new control board and I advised the CX to purchase a surge protector. I may also need to replace the water valve, but I need to rule out the board first. "Arrived on site for an ice machine that was not draining water. Upon arrival the customer stated they thought the external drain pump stopped working, and that the ice machine had leaked all onto the floor. They went out of town and when they came back the ice machine was completely full of water and a very large portion of their floor was covered in water. I put the unit into diagnostics mode and found the valve never energized. I checked voltage going to the valve and found none. This indicates a possibly bad water level sensor or control. I am ordering the recirc pump with the sensor integrated to install, and will order the control too. We will install the pump and test the unit. If the pump does not work then we will install the control. I gained access to the back of the unit and found the water line and drain line leaking. "Arrived on site for wall oven getting hot on the outside. I spoke to the customer and found out it is the floor next to the oven that is getting hot. The wall oven is installed into a cabinet below a cooktop. I inspected the unit and work area.I found the door hinges in good condition and the gasket it good shape. I put the unit into diagnostics and found no error codes. I tested the blower and found it working as designed. I explained how air flows in this unit. That it pulls air from the top and it blows out the bottom, and that with the oven on and the blower circulating air, the floor will heat up due to the unit venting down towards the floor. There is no way to change the air flow direction. The unit is working as designed. Job complete.
