Arrived on site to test unit for broiler catching on fire. Spoke with customer and he said he believes the broiler is too hot. The broiler did not catch on fire. They had a piece of bread that got to hot. Turned broiler on to 450? let the broiler pre heat put a bread in that the customer wanted to try. Customer put food in after broiler pre heated and the food cooked correctly. Customer was putting the food in while the unit was pre heating. Called Techline and spoke with Techline and nothing is wrong with the oven. Just found inner glass got smoky from food will order new inner glass. "Arrived on site for arrange. That will not turn off the oven light. Inspected unit and work area. I did confirm that the light would not turn off and checked the door. I found the door switch rod, not in the right place, and went to try to realign it. I found out that part was defective and warped. Ordering a new door switch rod and the office will need to contact the customer about a return date due to an out of stock and PSP item. No parts were installed.; ordrng 1 9757239 (Door switch rod)"

"Arrived on site for a range that is tripping the breaker. I verified the complaint of the unit tripping breaker. I took photos of the model and serial tag, product exterior front, product surroundings, product area of potential concern full, mid, and close, and breaker outside. I verified that voltage and polarity are correct. I inspected unit and found no signs of arcs or damage. Visual inspection of the harness shows no signs of damage. The terminal block is wired correctly and is tight (no twists in power cord or twists in power cord removed). I followed service pointer W11490386 thoroughly. I removed power cord from wall and replaced the bake element, broil element, and main control. Checked continuity between element casings and terminals and found OL. The unit does not have a ground strap. I reassembled the unit and ran a bake cycle at 450?F with the ground wire detached for 30 minutes. I verified that the amp draw was under 17 amps max. I stopped the cycle, disconnected power, and reattached the ground wire. I reconnected power and set a bake cycle at 450?F. I advised the customer to run the cycle for 2 hours before turning it off. I called whirlpool Techline and spoke to Steve SR# 7740465335."

"Arrived on site for a washing machine that does not work. Inspected unit and work area. The customer explained that the washing machine just makes a buzzing noise and does not start any cycles. I found the unit stuck in the drain upon plugging the unit in and canceled it. I ran it through diagnostics and found the drain pump kicked back on and flash an F2 E1 (UI stuck key) error code. I ran into an auto test and found the unit draining as it was filling, indicating pressure switch issue. I check the pressure hose and did not find it kinked or clogged. The customer stated that the unit will not finish a cycle and that they can run a drain and spin on the unit but it will not complete every cycle. I ran the unit three diagnostics and found an F8 E1 (long fill) error code. I tested both valves and found the cold water valve, not drying in any water. I tested the hot water valve and found proper water pressure. I checked the water supply within the home and found adequate water pressure coming from the cold water valve. The customer advised that when the unit lost power, he was changing his lightbulb, and that it popped and turned off all the lights. He explained that the light bulb had shattered, and that the casing was still inside of the housing assembly. I did confirm the customers complaint and unplugged the unit. I removed the base of the pre-existing lightbulb out of the housing and advised the customer that they would need a new control. I replaced the control and tested the unit. The issue was reminiscent of a dryer motor receiving 240VAC. Testing voltage supply lines revealed all were correct. I found when inspecting the motor that it had internally shorted within the stator, causing too much current draw and subsequent over-heating of the safety thermal device. I removed and replaced the motor and tested. All functions resumed and the machine heated and cycled as designed."

"Arrived on site to diagnose washer not draining sometimes. On arrival unit had an F9E1 error and a tub full of water. I drained with a transfer pump and did some testing. I found the drain pump would stop, but moving the unit around would get it moving again. I shook the harness and it kept running. Based on the fact movement restored function I replaced both the wiring harness and control. There is either a break / bad connection in the harness, or an issue with the pressure sensor on the control. Tested with control And harness replaced and had no further issues draining. Unit working as designed. No water leaks found. Parts used - W11568984, W11621180."

On arrival examined the unit and found there is a noticable bow on the left side of the door, and as a result the left top corner sticks out further than the right. To properly repair unit will need a new outer door. I tested the oven and did not find heat escaping from the door, so it is usable and damage is cosmetic only. Dispatch came in over 30 days from delivery, which renders the repair out of warranty / cosmetic. Customer was advised the only way we can repair within warranty is if they are able to get an OOW approval from KitchenAid to replace the door. Customer will follow up with Whirlpool customer service further. No repair made since failure is cosmetic in nature. Call completed."

"Arrived on site to diagnose washer that did not complete a cycle. Customer clarified they ran a cycle, got to roughly the spin segment and they heard a noise / unit drained and stopped. I checked for error codes and found only an overload code. I checked the bottom end of the unit and found where it looks like something had gotten stuck / wedged between the cage and cam pulley and rubbed into the fins of the pulley. I also saw some black marks from the belt, also indicating overload. I ran the unit through diagnostics and had no issues. Ran a regular cycle and also found no issues present. Whatever may have been stuck on the bottom end freed itself up and is no longer an issue. Customer advised to reduce load sizes to prevent overload stoppages. Unit working as designed. Arrived on site to inpsect dishwasher not starting cycle. Upon further inspection I placed the unit into diagnostics and observed error 4-3. I verified that the motor was receiving voltage but has become seized. I replaced the pump and motor assembly. I also found that the valve was hanging down and the clip that holds the connector to the valve was not holding. I replaced the valve. I retested the unit snd is now operating as designed. Found unit took over 30 minutes and still wouldnt equalize properly. Tried pulling vac and recharged system with 56g of r600 but found the same results. "On arrival verified complaint of tripping breaker. On arrival inspected unit and found no signs of arcs or damage. Visual inspection of the harness shows no signs of damage Terminal block is wired correctly and is tight (no twists in power cord. Verified voltage and polarity are correct. Removed power cord from wall. Replaced Bake and broil elements and main control. Checked continuity between element casings and terminals and found OL. Removed ground strap. Reconnected power. Ran bake element and broil elements in then ran bake cycle at 500 with ground strap off for 30 mins. Verified amp draw was under 16amps max. Stopped cycle, disconnected power,and reattached ground wire. Reconnected power and Set bake at 500 Advised customer to run for 1.5 hours and turn off cycle, repair has been completed per instructions in SP w11490386 , spoke to TL 7740454727 and submitted picture of breaker and advised of sp W11525530 for GFCI manufacturer. Advised customer if it happens again to replace breaker. Arrived onsite for unit not starting a cycle. Found that either the Sud error and F35 error are automatically being displayed after door locks. Both errors are relaying the pressure sensor.
