Whirlpool Dishwasher- Arrived to inspect washability, drying issues and long run times. I found the unit had no stored error codes and completed service test mode with no additional errors stored and very good water flow. I verified heater operation and a cold amp draw of 7.7 amps which is acceptable and expected. I discussed the customer's use and they have city water and pre-rinse thoroughly. I advised the customer that the amount of oils on the load is low and to use less detergent, they are currently using high concentration enzyme based detergent tablets and there are signs of foaming during the cycle. I recommended one tablespoon of detergent for their use, and to use a bleach based detergent if there is hazing on glasses. The drying issue is due to lack of rinse agent utilization and I recommended rinse agent at a setting of 2-3. I discussed the absolute importance of purging the cold water from the hot water supply by running the hot water in the sink until it reaches its maxim

I ran the machine thru auto diagnostics and the machine filled as designed. I did notice that the hot water valve filled a little slower than the cold valve. The home was built in 1986 and it does not have a water softener. I explained to the customer that the hot water lines can get built up with lime scale and that causes restriction leading to pressure drop in the line.
