REFRIGERATOR AMANA 36088 "36088 Arrived to inspect no cool. I found the compressor running, but there was no heat generated on the high side and current was 1.6 amps. The amp draw and sound from the compressor appears to be from a low side leak that has drawn air into the system and the evaporator will be required as well. Parts, such as the compressor and evaporator, are not shown in any of the mfg diagrams as available or with a subsequent part number. Due to the age (1981) of the unit, lack of parts availability and an R12 equipped sealed system, a reliable repair cannot be made. No leaks observed during service."

I checked the dampener operation and the defrost circuit on the unit and both were working as designed. I checked the drain and it was clear. I found the door seal in good condition and sealing properly. I found frost and ice on the evaporator, cover, and all around the door of the FC. I found large gaps between the chassis and liner causing warm air leaks. I quoted the customer RF170 LABOR $209.99 + tax. I removed all the ice and frost. I sealed the chassis to the liner with factory approved sealant. The unit is working as designed. There were no water leaks present at the time of service. Call complete."

WASHER MAYTAG MHW5500FW0 Arrived onsite for the washer that is stopping mid cycle. I checked stored error codes and found an F5E2. I found the door lock working as designed. The unit completed the cycle but step 8 took forever to complete because the unit would stop and start over like it is detecting an unbalanced load and never reach max spin speed. I also found the UI failing with the selector knob. When turning the knob at different times the unit will just power off. There appears to be a short in the UI. The control and the UI need to be replaced to complete service. I quoted the customer CNTRL-ELEC $304.04 + PANEL-CNTL $206.59 + FL290/MT400 LABOR $189.99 = $700.62 + tax. Ms wants to call the factory to see if they will do anything for the repair. I charged the customer FL100 LABOR $99.99 + tax.

I found the shaft had been shoved up from moving and I corrected the issue and re-pressed the bearings. I reinstalled the motor and tested after calibration. arrived on site to inspect washer with no water entering tub. Upon further inspection, I placed the unit in diagnostics to test and error codes F6E1 and F5E2 appeared. I cleared the codes and continued with testing. The unit locked the door and stopped. It would not advance through the steps in diagnostics. I removed the back panel and checked continuity to the motor ad it was good. I removed the motor control ad inspected it and found that it had shorted and arced. I notified the office to get authorization to replace the control due to it being over $100. Office obtained authorization and I removed and replaced the motor control and tested. The unit operated as designed with no error codes. No water leaks observed during service, job completed.
