DISHWASHER WHIRLPOOL GU3200XTXY4 "arrived on site to inspect dishwasher not operating. Upon further inspection, I found that the unit had no power. The breaker was on ad the hardwired switch at the sink was on, but no lights were on with the UI. I verified voltage at the junction box. I removed the outer door panel and verified voltage to the bi-metal. I removed the connections to the bi-metal and tested ohms and found the bimetal to be open. I removed and replaced the bimetal and tested the unit and the unit began to operate. Also, the customer advised that he pulled the unit from its space and noticed that the drain hose was not connected. I reconnected the hose and put a new clamp on it as the original clamp was stretched. I placed the unit in diagnostics and tested and the unit operated as designed. I re-wires the junction box due to the wire nut being loose on both connections. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

MICROWAVE WHIRLPOOL WMH31017FS0 Arrived onsite for the microwave with the handle getting to hot while cooking in it. I found that the issue is the handle is getting too hot when cooking on the RF cooktop burner that’s below the microwave. The unit has 34” between the top of the cooktop grate and the bottom of the cabinet where the microwave is mounted. When I arrived ms had the fan off and the handle was super hot. I explained to me that the hood fan on the microwave needed to be on when the cooktop is being used. Ms stated she always runs the fan but wanted to show me how hot it gets when the fan is not running. I took temps of the handle at the top middle and bottom after the hood fan had been on with the cooktop burner in use. I also took a pic of the hottest part of the handle near the bottom and it was at 97.2 degrees. I attached pics of all the temp recordings in SDQP. I called the safety team and spoke with Linda to give her my findings. I called techline and spoke with Joel. J

COOKTOP JENN-AIR JED8430ADB "Arrived onsite for the cooktop not turning on at all. Mr stated it tripped the breaker so they turned all of the knobs off and reset the breaker but as soon as they turned it on the heard a pop in the cooktop and the breaker tripped again. Mr called an electrician out and they disconnected the electrical at the cooktop. I tested the unit cold from the pigtail and had nothing to ground with the switches turned on. I found the OWI completely covered in debris. I checked stored error codes and found an .F7E1, F6E2, & F8E2. I cleaned the filter, the OWI, and the sump and ran the diagnostics cycle. I found the fill valve and drain valves working as designed. I found the unit not heating. I tested the heater and it was showing open. I also found the dispenser leaking rinse aid. Need to replace the dispenser and the heater.

Upon further inspection, the customer advised that the unit steamer line leaked and did damage and they wanted the steamer completely disconnected. Using my appliance dolly, I removed the oven unit from the wall and found damage to the Sheetrock and the wood base where the unit rests. I had the customer sign a waiver from damages when working with water then I turned the water on temporarily to find where the line is leaking from and placed a towel under the water line to catch any/all water. Once I found where the leak was coming from; line connection, I turned the water off. The customer requested that I remove the water line from the unit steamer line being as they don’t use the steamer. I removed the water line from the unit and then connected the main water line to the refrigerator. I took photos of all work done.
