REFRIGERATOR WHIRLPOOL KRFF507HPS00 Arrived onsite for the refrigerator that still makes a loud humming noise. I ran test 3 & test 4 with ms listening for the noise. In test 4 when the compressor came on ms stated that’s the noise she was hearing. I explained to ms that this was the normal sound from the compressor and the noise is louder because the refrigerator is located in a tight spot between the cabinets and walls causing it to echo. I did find the stub out on the compressor touching the back cover and I bent it out of the way. The cover was the cardboard style so I didn’t think this would cause the noise to make a higher pitch sound. The unit is working as designed. Call complete.

I checked stored error codes and found an F6E3, F9E2, & F9E1. I erased the codes and ran the diagnostics cycle. I could hear the diverter switching between the upper and lower wash arms. The fan would not operate and I removed and replaced it with the harness assembly. The drain tube in the lower unit area was gapped and had been leaking for some time. I sealed the tube and then squared and leveled the chassis and doors. All functions appeared to be present and the airflow returned to the rc. No leaks observed during service.

I tested the range cooktop burners and all were operating as designed. I turned the oven on Bake at 350 degrees at the control and the Ignitor never came on. I pulled the unit from its place and removed the back cover to expose the Ignitor wires. I found that the Ignitor wires were not connected. I connected the wiring and tested the unit and the Ignitor glowed and the burner came on. The unit began to heat as designed. I advised the customer of my findings. No gas leaks detected during service, job completed."

REFRIGERATOR KITCHENAID WRV986FDEM01 Arrived onsite for the refrigerator making a loud noise. Ms stated the noise lasted for 7 days but it stopped making the noise now. Ms had a recording of the noise and it sounds like the evaporator fan hitting ice. I asked ms if the noise was louder when the FC door was opened and she stated yes. Ms also stated the interior lights won’t work and the dispenser functions are not working. I found the deli UI shorted out causing the interior light not to work. I found a failed UI causing the dispenser functions not to work. When in no cool mode the evaporator fan would continue to run. Need to replace the main control and possibly the evaporator fan motor for this. I ran test 6 and I’m getting no voltage out of the main control to the defrost circuit. I tested the defrost circuit from the control and was getting 30.5 ohms indicating the circuit is good and calling for defrost. The FC evaporator is frosted up causing the fan noise the customer was hearin

When I lifted the lid, I did not hear the switch engage. I opened the control panel to expose the lid switch and using my multimeter, I checked for ohms on the switch and it was open. I removed and replaced the switch and when I closed the lid, I heard the switch engage. I turned the dial/timer to spin and the unit began to drain the water and I could hear the tub spinning. I advised the customer of my findings/repair. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

Upon further inspection, the customer advised that when they had the unit installed and tested, they found that it was leaking from the back of the unit. When I arrived, the unit was pulled out of the cabinet area and still connected to water and electricity and drainage. The customer advised that they found that it was leaking from the back right top corner. I could see evidence of a leak. I place the unit in diagnostics and tested with no error codes showing and placed my towel under the back right corner of the unit. After the water dispensed, the unit began to wash and water began to leak from the back right top corner. I found that the tub is dented causing the seal between the top of the unit and the back panel to be broken allowing water to leak out.
