The unit was unplugged and defrosted when I arrived. I found the bottom of the RC compartment full of water under the deli drawer indicating a clogged drain line. I explained to mr that if this happens it can also cause the coil to frost over and not get the FC to 0 degrees also causing wet ice. The drain needs to be cleared. The customer mentioned the left door pops sometimes. Mr showed me the noise. It sound like the cam/bushing is dry. Ordering both and explained to mr that if they were bad we would add them on when we returned or it’s possible that it might just need some dielectric grease added. I placed the unit in diagnostics showing no error codes and ran a manual water fill then tested agitation on high and low. Once the unit filled above the washplate, I could hear the noise. I replaced the clutch and retested and the noise was still there. I inspected the washplate and it was good. I advised the customer that I would have to replace the gearcase. On further inspection I found a long white bread tie in the cooling fan. I removed it and took a pic of it. I tested the oven and found the cooling fan working as designed. I checked the door gasket and found it in good condition but it was flattened out. I showed the customer how to reshape the door gasket. I called techline and spoke with Butch SR # 7727112405 and gave him my findings. Butch agreed that the unit should be working as designed now. Call complete.

I showed the customer the difference in the rails and why it’s opening like that and recommended that they open the door by pulling from the middle of the handle. Placed unit in service diagnostics and found an F8 E1 (long/no fill), F0 E3 (overload), and F2 E1 (UI stuck button) codes. I placed the unit in an auto test cycle and unit worked as designed. The client wanted us to test a regular cycle and the unit would not fill. Unit would not fill and would flash LF code after 12 minutes of sensing. The unit would not buzz like I was trying to fill. REFRIGERATOR KITCHENAID WRV986FDEM01 Arrived onsite for a refrigerator with a buzzing noise coming from the FC fan. I confirmed the noise coming from the FC fan. I ran all thermistor test and ran test 38 short forced defrost. I found the unit going into defrost and the defrost heater working as designed. I found the FC coil completely frosted up. I advised the customer on replacing the fan and harness assembly. I found a small air gap on the top right corner of the door gasket but the gasket is in good condition. I defrosted the coil and replaced the fan. I corrected the door gasket. I checked the seal on the evaporator drain. Call complete.

While measuring temperature in FC ice maker cycle and dropped ice and filled. Found ice cubes at full size. Found when ice maker filled water was leaking from ice maker into ice container. Inspected ice maker mold and found water leaking out of left side. Placed level on all 3 shelves and found unit leaning to the left and causing ice maker to leak. Called tech support and spoke with Kevin. Performed diagnostics mode, tested all fan operation, inspected RC and FC evaporators with UV light and found no signs of seal system leak. Confirmed ice container temperature with Kevin, due to unit cycling then measuring temperature 22° would be n range. Leveled unit and place in basic defrost cycle. I found the suction side going into a 20 psi vacuum in both compartments and showing 70 psi on the high side in both compartments. I found no signs of a refrigerant leak on the coils or around the compressor. I suspect a leak but can’t find one at this time. It was already noted from a previous visit that JC had determined the leak was in the chassis and called techline referencing the call with an SR number.

Customer advised that the unit squeaked intermittently during the wash cycle. I tilted the unit back and found the rotor had been rubbing on the drain pan due to the unit legs aren’t level and raised. I lowered the legs and leveled the unit and retested. Also found that the suspension rods are bad as the drum/basket bounces around. WASHER AMANA NTW4516FW3 Arrived onsite for a washer that the delicate cycle doesn’t work at all and has to run an additional drain and spin cycle and it doesn’t drain all of the water out of the basket. I checked stored error codes and found an F8E1. I found the cod water valve filing slow. I replaced the aloe and tested the unit. The unit is working as designed. While repacking the valve I found the fill hoses installed backwards with the strainers at the machine valve instead of the wall valves. I explained this to ms and explained that I would change the hoses out with new ones Incase debris is trapped inside them. Call complete.

Arrived to check out unit and unit is mounted under the counters, and only has about 4 inches or so of space from the vent to the floor. Because of where the unit is mounted it is going to blow the hot vented air onto the floor and cause it to heat up. This is not due to the design of the unit, but due to it being an under counter location blowing in the floor. Unit is working as designed. Also advised the customer to remove tinfoil from the bottom of the unit, as it can melt and destroy their finish. Called Whirlpool safety and reported findings.

Customer was able to reproduce noise, and you could hear rattling if you lights bang on the top. Removed front panel and checked inside for any loose components. Slightly bent bracket on heating element to increase fit against back panel and vent. Retightened all screws on front panel and lid. Found one of the rear brackets was slightly loose and possibly a tiny bit bent. Tightened bracket and reattached for a tighter fit. Retested unit and found noise was almost completely gone. Advised customer that there will always be a tiny bit of cabinet rattle and noise coming from it, but they did agree that the noise they heard was eliminated. All is working as designed. Upon arrival, the customer explained what the previous techs had diagnosed and then advised that since the UI had been replaced, the measured water fill doesn’t work. The part ordered was the left pantry switch, so when I went to replace it, I found that the switch was not connected correctly and when the switch was slightly moved to one side or the other, the lights would flicker off and on. I disassembled the shelf that the switch is in and found both wire connectors were barely touching the switch connectors. Once I connected them firmly and tested, the unit began to operate as designed. I advised the customer of my findings repairs. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."
