"Arrived on site for a dryer that is producing a burning plastic smell. Inspected unit and work area. Ran the unit through a normal high heat cycle and did confirm an odd smell coming from the dryer. Disassembled the unit and could not find any wires burned or anything stuck in the element housing producing the smell. Found no evidence of anything burning inside of the dryer. I called whirlpool techline and spoke to Joe SR# 7736209996. He advised that since there was no visible damage inside the unit or burning evidence, we could not conclude that the dryer was the actual issue. He advised that the issue could be from lint burning inside of the heater housing, something couldve been burned prior to, and its taking a little while to get rid of, or could be smells from the outside, if the venting flap outside of the wall was left open causing abnormal smells. Either which way, he advised that there was no repairs that could be done to this unit and to have the customer run a couple loads with some bounce sheets to alleviate the smell. The unit is working as designed. Call complete."

"Arrived on site for a wash machine. That is not washing clothes properly and is going off balance. Inspected unit and work area. Were on the unit through diagnostics and found an F0 E3 (overload) error code. Ran the unit through an auto test and found that during agitation, the unit was spinning the entire basket instead of just the agitator. Checked underneath and found that the cam was not connected to the shifter, causing the issue. Reconnected the cam to the actuator and tested the unit. The unit began to work and operate as designed. Arrived onsite for a refrigerator that is not producing ice. Upon inspection I found that the ice maker would harvest when run in diag mode same with the fill function. Found no codes for the ice maker. Upon further inspection I found that the right door upper hinge was loose and caused the door not to seal properly causing temperatures not to reach the proper level to make good ice. I contacted this and checked the fill tube and found that it was not frozen. I also found moisture in the freezer i she that the door was sealing and it wasnt I adjusted the door and the chassis to get a good seal and advise customer off what I found and done. Job complete

"Arrived on site to inspect refrigerator with water building up below the two middle drawers. Upon further inspection, the customer advised that the unit is continuing to do the same thing with water building up under the two deli drawers and proceeded to remove the deli drawers. I found a small amount of water on the bottom panel of the RC section. Also found a small amount of ice built up on the left side of the evaporator cover from water that has been collecting during defrost as a result of not being able to flow to the drain tube on the right side. I found the shim on the right side of the evap,drip pan had been moved and was not leveling the pan to allow the water to flow properly. The customer advised that they were previously advised about the disclaimer from management at the previous service call. I explained the issues weve been finding with this particular unit and recommended the customer not go forward with any repairs and it will be costly and once parts are installed, they cannot be removed and refunded. I tested temps in the FC=5 degrees and RC=37 degrees. The unit is currently operating as designed minus the water in the bottom of the RC section. Customer agreed to not repair the unit and signed for the receipt. No water leaks observed during service other than the water in the fresh foods section, job completed."

Arrived on site to test unit for shutting itself off. Found in diagnostics unit was not draining properly. Found drain tube was about 3ft into drain pipe. Advised 4 1/2 inches is the recommended amount of tubing recommended to be inserted into drain pipe. Cut drain hose back and secured with zip ties. Completed diagnostics with no issues. Installed high drain loop and advised customer to stop using pods and switch to liquid soap as soft water is causing unit to over sud and leaks suds into over flow pan and past lip of tub. Home does not have a soft water or water filtration system. Advised white residue is calcium build from hard water. Customer has dishwasher running and she stated this is only the 3rd time using. Advised to run empty cycle with white vinegar to removed any calcium build up in water supply lines as water has been sitting during building of home and needs to be flushed through. "Arrived on site to diagnose refrigerator with low ice production. Customer said they were only getting a handful of cubes daily. I checked temps and found RC at 37, and FC got to 5 before I left. I tested the icemaker and verified it was working properly. Called tech line and spoke with Butch, SR7736210059. Unit has a minimum of 100 minute harvest time, which increases with usage, and is dependant on temp. I advised the customer of my findings and what to expect as far as production. Advised to keep airflow channel clear to allow for proper circulation to allow temps to maintain. No further failures found at this time. Customer will follow up if they do not get increased production. Call complete."

Arrived on site to install new tub ring on washer leaking water. Removed lid and installed new tub ring. Tested with softener valve activation and confirmed no further leaks present. Repair completed.

"Arrived on site to diagnose washer making a high pitched screech when spinning. Customer showed me video of the sound, which sounded like a high pitched screech, coming from the rotating assembly. I replaced the gearcase to remove the noise. Tested and found no abnormal noise present. Customer advised to follow up if issue returns. Repair completed."

Arrived onsite for washer leaking. I put the unit in diagnostics mode and when the water was dispensing it was hitting the top of the washer lid. On inspection I found that the water chute has 9 holes in it and they were clogged with calcium that made the hole smaller that created a strong stream that was shooting out of the washer. Cleaned the calcium out of the holes and retested the unit. The unit is working as designed now and ther3 is no more water leaks now.

Arrived onsite for IM not working. On inspection found ice over arm of the ice maker and on the side of the tray. I saw that the fill tube was iced over so I steamed it out. I then looked in the fill tube and I could barely see the hole where the water enters the chute. I steamed it and a calcium piece came out. I could half of it the hole now. I steamed it some more and the rest of the calcium came out. Reassembled the IM and called for water. The tray filled up and no water came out the side. No water leaks detected during service.

Arrived onsite for burner not igniting. On inspection found that the right front burner was not igniting in timely manner. I saw the spark was sparking side ways causing the burner not to ignite. I repositioned the cap on the burner to make the igniter spark up to the cap. It is working as designed now but if the issue comes back the igniter needs to be replaced.

Arrived onsite for a DW that is not drying the dishes properly upon arrival I noticed the the DW was leaning forward and was not secured in place properly. I contacted this and began testing the unit. I found that t6e heating element was good and the drain hose was clear and the drain pump opened as designed nothing clogging the disposal either and the wash motor ran with no issue. I did however advise the customer to start using rinse aid to help the dishes dry better it would not get rid of all of the water left behind but it will help. I also found out that they had a water softener on the home which means they have to use less detergent I advise them on this they seemed receptive to the advice and will follow through with it. job complete

Arrived onsite for a dishwasher thats not draining. I found multiple F8E4 stored error codes and the overflow pan full of water. The fill valve is not weeping water at this time. I found the customer had an RO system connected to a Y fitting along with the dishwasher drain tube at the disposal. I explained to the customer the issues that this will cause. The customer stated they no longer want the RO system and will have it removed. I was able to turn the drain pump on and it emptied all the water from the tub. I ran the service cycle and the machine completed the cycle and works as designed. There were no water leaks present at the time of service. Call complete.

Upon further inspection, I found the unit being serviced is the stand alone freezer (built-in) and I corrected the model/serial numbers in the ticket. I tested temps in the freezer and found it to be 5 degrees. I removed the evap cover and found a good frost pattern, but the defrost element appeared to be shorted. I checked ohms reading and found the element out of range. Customer advised the ice maker is leaving black specs in the ice and provided an ice cube that had the specs in it. Testing the unit, I found no faults within any sensors, fans, harness and control parts, nor any other computational systems. The FC defrost circuit had the expected continuity and resistance measurement and manual defrost voltage testing was operational. The feet were not set, but may have been prior and I squared and leveled the chassis, requiring over 1/2 of front-end lift. The doors were incorrectly aligned and I corrected all RC door alignment. Finding no other faults, I suspect the issue was with an item(s) that may have blocked complete FC door closing, as the ice development within the FC evaporator is atypical of other issues found with this type of chassis. I coached the customer on frontal FC item placement.

"Arrived on site to inspect range cooktop display indicators not turning. Off while unit is off. Upon further inspection, I found the display showing the hot surface/cooktop on indicators lit up but the unit is off. I pulled the unit out and removed he back cover to expose the cooktop switches and found the front right burner switch with a burnout mark. I unplugged the switch and the display indicators turned off. I removed and replaced the switch and retested and unit is operating as designed. Job completed."

"Arrived on site to inspect range ignitors clicking all the time. Upon further inspection, I found the unit unplugged and plugged it back in. Tested all the cooktops burners and the oven and unit is operating as designed. The customer advised that the cooktop burner ignitors were constantly arcing even when they werent using the unit. I tested several times and could not get the unit to duplicate the complaint. I removed and replaced the spark module and retested and unit continues to operate as designed. No gas leaks detected during service, job completed."

"Arrived on site to inspect washer leaking water. Upon further inspection, the customer advised that they have been finding a large amount of water coming from under the unit and around the sides. I placed the unit in diagnostics and tested. I removed the back panel and once the unit filled, I advanced to engage the drain pump and found no signs of a leak and there were no leaks within the valve hoses. I tested the unit several times with the customer present and never found a leak. When I went to put the unit back in its space, I found a small amount of water on the floor where the door was positioned over the puddle. I found the door is leaking at the bottom of the bellow. I found a small amount of debris on the bottom section the inner glass that was causing a break in the seal and water was leaking out. Customer cleaned the bellow and inner glass and I retested and unit is no longer leaking. I recommended the customer monitor the unit and if it leaks anymore to contact our office to schedule service, at which time, the bellow will need to be replaced.

"Arrived on site to inspect range oven not heating. Upon further inspection, I placed the unit in diagnostics and checked for codes and found F2E1. Also found the key tone was turned off. I cleared the code and tested the components and all are functioning properly. Once out of diagnostics, I went into the tools/options and reset the control and turned the key tones back on and tested the unit in Bake at 350 degrees. The unit reached temp and is operating as designed. I tested the bottom drawer and it too is operating as designed. I advised the customer that the unit had the error code indicating there was a stuck key on the control panel, but since resetting the control, the u;it is operating as designed.

Arrived on site to test unit for temp not being correct. Customer stated inspector found temps to be off 25 degrees. Heated both ovens to 350 and found temps were correct. Also found elements cycling as designed. Unit is working as designed. Job complete.

"Arrived on site to follow up on washer that was not properly starting most cycles. Customer also got a flashing F6E2 error as well. Checked in diagnostic and confirmed presence of F6E2, which is UI cant hear control. Ui has already been replaced, leaving control as likely cause. Replaced control and verified I could start multiple cycles with no issues.

"Arrived on site for stuck on sensing. Upon arrival ran diagnostics and got error codes F5-E1 lid switch, F2-E1 stuck key, F7-E1 basket speed fault, F0-E5 out of balance. Ran manual test and all components operate except spin. Found hub has failed. Need to replace hub. Replaced hub . Test unit by running a normal cycle. Unit is operating as designed. No leaks present at this time. Job complete /

Arrived on site for making grinding noise. Upon arrival test unit. Found wash motor is vibrating loud. Need to replace wash motor.

"Arrived onsite for oven not heating. On inspection the upper oven is working and the lower one is not. Tested the temp sensor was 1k and the heating element was 16 ohms. Tested the glow igniter was OL, replaced the igniter and it is operating as designed and no gas leaks detected during inspection.

"MDB8959SKZ0 Arrived to inspect no water entering and burning odor. Service test mode had F10E2 stored in memory. I found no issues with the element and it had the appearance of dry operation. I found debris within the drain and circulation pumps and removed. The control would not effectively operate within service test mode and I suspected the debris had locked motors, causing control overheat and failure, compounded by excessive heat soak from over detergenting, cause by pre-measured pods. After replacing the control, the unit resumed normal operations. No leaks observed during service.

"110.61202010 Arrived to inspect noise. I found the roller wheel in the left rear had failed and was freely spinning on the hub. There were signs of excessive back pressure as well. I R/R the dryer rebuild kit and removed all lint from within the chassis. The unit would heat, but due to extremely restricted flow, would short cycle. I advised the customer to have the venting cleaned out prior to any attempted use. Operational test with vent off, good.
