"Arrived onsite for a refrigerator not cooling correctly to possibly replace previous diagnosed sealed system components and controls. I found the UI showing PO when I arrived. The customer stated the PO is constantly showing up. I found the RC cooling but the FC wasn’t cooling at all. I ran service test 3 and found the controls resetting as soon as the FC evaporator fan tried to start. I found the fan shorting out and I found the power supply getting hot and smoking. I replaced the power supply control and the FC evaporator fan. I tested the unit. I found the RC only getting to 60 degrees and the temp dropping very slowly. I found the low side line frozen to the compressor. I found the RC coil completely frosted up. I explained to the customer that this was probably caused by the unit doing the power reset and constantly trying to coon the RC. I defrosted the coil and tested the unit. The RC dropped to 46 degrees after 20 minutes and the sealed syst

When I spoke with resident they informed me that the issue they had was a water bottle / glass with liquid has frozen and broken on the top shelf, resulting in a safety issue with Glass. Checked unit and advised to keep liquids off the top shelf as they sit in front of the damper vent from the freezer, and it’s blowing freezing air on them. Water lines were working as designed at this time, and no issue was found with them. If RC freezing issues get worse we would need to return with a damper, also advised to raise RC temp as well. "Arrived on site to diagnose refrigerator with a UI that has no temperature control on it. Called tech line, and was advised to order a UI as a customer complaint from Plainfield. SR7727407325. The unit has no temperature control on the UI or in the damper assy. When I tried to install the new UI, found it does not have the right connectors for the unit, as the unit has a 2 pin and 6 pin connection. The new UI is showing as the correct part number, but has 2 4pin connectors. Parts to research and find us correct UI for this unit to allow temp control. No other action we can take at this time. Office to reschedule when we can find correct part."

Upon further inspection, the customer advised that the unit makes a loud knocking noise 4-5 times per day and showed me a video of the noise. Customer demonstrated by opening the freezer drawer ad waiting then closing it and after a few minutes the noise began. I found that the tones on the ice maker were having a difficult time turning as if the gears were stripped. I removed the top and back panels and placed the unit in diagnostics showing no error codes. Continued with testing and found that the inlet valve is leaking from a small crack in the plastic. Arrived on site for refrigerator that would not cool the refrigerator section was iced up in the freezer. Inspected unit and work area. Tested unit in service diagnostics and was able to get the evaporator fan and condenser fan running. Tested damper door and found it opening and closing. Tested the bi-frost metal and found it closed. Tested resistance through the Defrost heater and found continuity. Tested voltage going to defrost heater while in a force defrost and found 121 V going to the heater. Advised customer to make sure the doors close fully before walking away and to manually defrost the unit if this happens again first before calling to make sure there is a defrost issue. Defrosted evaporator cover and evaporator of frost. Unit is working as designed. Call complete.
