"arrived on site to inspect washer noises. Upon further inspection, I tested the unit in diagnostics with no error codes. I tested agitate and spin mode in manual test mode. While testing in spin, I could hear a screeching noise at the beginning ad it would fade away. The customer played a video of the unit and it sounded like rocks inside the basket while spinning. I removed the basket and found a piece of metal in the bottom of the tub in the drain area. I tilted the unit back and found a large amount of gearcase oil on the pulley shield. I removed and replaced gearcase and cam and cleaned the oil off of the shield and other parts and tested. Unit operates as designed. I advised the customer of my findings. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

Found freezer evaporator has more frost than normal. Entered step 6 of diagnostics for defrost cycle. Control displayed 01 for closed defrost bimetal. Defrost heater did energize indicating that the defrost cycle isn’t working properly. Defrost bimetal opened after only 11 minutes of heat. Will need to replace control board and fan motor which has the defrost thermostat with it.; ordrng 1 COSTAPPROVALNEEDED and 1 W11032800 (motor-evap)
