I checked stored error codes and found an F6E3, F6E2, & F2E1. I checked the harness between the UI and main control and found it in good condition. I reseated both connectors. I visually checked the UI and main control and found no signs of anything getting hot on the controls. I checked the lower harness and found it good. I found the upper part of the wall outlet loose internally which might have cause the smell. Ms stated the unit had been making a loud clicking noise when changing from wash to spin and some grinding noise. I found the gear case leaking oil. The gear case needs to be replaced. I contacted lg Techline and spoke to David and advised of my findings and previous repairs. David advised that when replacing the stator the rotor should be replaced also. He advised that if that didn’t correct the error, then to replace the gearcase/clutch assembly ad to check the motor harness for any corrosion. I removed the rotor and stator and checked the motor harness and it was good. I reinstalled the stator and installed a new rotor and retested. Unit operated as designed. I retested one more time and again it operated as designed showing no error codes. I advised the customer of my repairs. Customer placed a load in the washer and started it and it began to operate as designed. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

While testing temps, I could hear the FC Evap fan rubbing against the ice that was built up around it. I placed the unit in diagnostics and found that the defrost bimetal was open. Once I removed the ice from the evaporator, I removed and replaced the Evap fan motor harness and the hv control and tested the unit. Unit began to operate as designed and the evaporator had a good frost pattern. While in diagnostics, I went to test #7 and switched the defrost control to #2 for an 8hr defrost time. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

"Arrived on site to diagnose dishwasher that was still not efficiently washing even with last repair. Customer told me that water was sometimes cloudy, but that it often just doesn’t rinse all the stuff on dishes off anymore. Ran through diagnostic cycle to test mechanical functions. All is working as it should be, with strong water pressure and hot heating element. Water coming from tap feels like it could be hotter and advised customer to bump the temp a tiny bit from the water heater. Recommended they try cleaning the dishes a bit more before loading, as unit is not showing any signs of weak parts or failure. No repair to be made. Call complete."

Arrived onsite for the dryer not heating. I tested the dryer and found it working as designed. After the unit ran for a little while I found it failing. I found the valve coils causing the issue with one of the coils showing open when it got warm and the double coil with higher than normal range resistance on both sides when it got warm. The coils need to be replaced to complete service. I replaced the coils and tested the dryer. The unit is working as designed. Call complete.
