"arrived on site to inspect microwave not heating. Upon further inspection, I removed the unit from the wall and removed the cover and found where the diode had grounded itself to the metal plate below. Also found that the plate where the transformer and capacitor sit was badly bent/twisted causing the transformer & capacitor to drop forward which caused the diode to ground out. Several photos taken. I contacted ge Techline and spoke to Don and advised of my findings and questioned whether or not the metal plate was available to order/replace as there is no order number in the ge parts breakdown diagram.

Upon further inspection, the customer advised that the flame to the middle burner wasn’t correct and they have never used the middle burner as their inspection pointed it out. I tested all burners and the middle burner and the front right burner had high flames. I checked the orifices in the middle burner and both were correct for natural gas. I found that the burner caps were switched between the middle and front right burners. Put the correct caps on each and retested and both are operating as designed. I demonstrated to the customer on how to check for the correct caps for the burners as well. No gas leaks detected during service, job completed."

Upon further inspection, I found an orange colored buildup in the tub at the bottom of the door, around the gasket of the sump/motor assembly, and around the door window gasket. Customer advised that they have a water softener as well and are using liquid detergent. I contacted Techline and spoke to Brian and advised of my findings. Brian suggested that the buildup is bacteria and use Affresh or another cleaner to clean the unit. He recommended that the customer turn the sink water on hot and allow it too get extremely hot before turning the unit on to clean as well. He provided File #7727118442. I advised the customer of the recommendations Tested the unit in diagnostics showing no error codes. Unit operates as designed. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

Placed unit in service diagnostics and found F5 E4 (lid not opened between cycles) and F2 E1 (UI stuck button) codes. Ran unit though an auto test and unit made a whirring sound as it spun. The unit also did not agitate when it was supposed to. When trying to disassemble, the screw and wash plate were seized into the gear case and had to pry them off. Once I removed the wash plate, I removed the gear case and found gear case and clutch bad. Replaced gear case, clutch, and wash plate and tested unit. Unit working as designed. Call complete."

I did a power reset and the controls worked as designed. I tested the unit and found lots of sudsing again during the test wash and there was no detergent in the dispenser prior to the test. I took pictures of the suds. I went over detergent amounts with the customer again and explained how this can affect the spin on the washer. I also advised using a washer cleaner. "arrived on site to inspect wall oven temps. Upon further inspection, customer advised that their inspection indicated that the temps in the oven were 20 degrees too high using a round metal thermometer. Using my multimeter, I placed my thermal lead in the middle of the center rack and tested temps on Bake at 350 degrees. My preheat temp was 417 degrees. My next five readings were 423, 328, 360, 337, 367 for an average of 363 degrees. I calibrated the unit minus -10 degrees. Advised the customer of my findings, job completed. I provided the customer with the contact information to the Whirlpool Connect team- 866-333-4591 in order to get assistance in connecting the WiFi."

"Arrived on site and accessed fresh food evaporator and found evaporator drain pan and housing broken. Installed fan and found that there is oil on bottom half of evaporator and covering broken parts of the drain pan. Ran test 4 to test sealed system and found only partial frost pattern at beginning of evaporator and runs up capillary tube. Also found partial frost pattern in freezer evaporator. Due to the amount of ice build up on fresh food evaporator it has broken the plastic parts and damaged the evaporator causing sealed system leak. Unit will need fresh food evaporator, compressor, drier and stub to repair sealed system.
