Performed diagnostics and got good readings from thermistors, and fan cycles on normally. Put unit in forced defrost and it melted remaining ice immediately. UI was not giving me the option for LONG defrost, short only. Customer also gave me a video of a knocking sound. Found that when unit is cooling or goes in and out of diagnostic mode the 3 way valve is slamming consistently. REFRIGERATOR LG LSXS26366S/02 "Arrived onsite for a refrigerator that had the compressor replaced on 1/30/2020 and now the unit is not cooling, possibly a refrigerant leak. After talking with the customer, ms stated the compressor hadn’t been replaced. She stated the previous company (tech) told her the compressor was bad and it needed to be replaced. I saw where the previous company had installed a saddle tap on the low side of the original factory compressor. I took pics in SDQP. I powered the unit up and found the compressor not pumping and the system fully charged. The compressor will need to be replaced and a jig will be needed to upload the new software for the universal compressor. Ordering parts authorizations, JIG/JIG, compressor, UV drier, and access valve. Removed top and found signs of possible water leaking from hot inlet valve (see SD-QuickPic). After farther inspection found hot water valve could have been from bad connection to valve from hose. Performed diagnostics mode and found leaking at cold inlet valve. Spoke with customer on hot water valve and he stated that they did have the hot hose bust in the past. Will need to replace cold inlet valve to correct water leak. Removed failed inlet valve and installed new. Performed diagnostics mode and inspected for possible water leaks, none found. Monitored all other operations. All tested good.

Upon further inspection, I tested the water dispenser and after stopping the dispensing, the water dropped a few times onto the door. The customer advised that he was told that it’s normal for water to drip after dispensing. I contacted Techline and spoke to Rick and advised of my findings. Rick advised that it is not normal for the water the drip after dispensing and advised to check all water line connections due to air being suctioned back into the line and causing the drip. I advised that I was replacing the FC door door due to recommendation from Whirlpool. Provided File #7727083142. I removed and replaced the fc door and tested the water dispenser and no water dripped after dispensing. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

Remove evaporator cover and tested voltage going to evaporator fan. Found 12 V AC going to fan. Unit is supposed to be sending 6 V +/- 15% to fan. Tested evaporator fan and found it open. Advise customer they would need to replace the control and the evaporator fan for proper function and guarantee on service.Replaced evaporator fan and control and programmed the refrigerator control. Customer informed me that they had attempted to replace the dispenser control and lever and shortly after it had stopped dispensing water, and that the replacement part was from a newer unit. When I tested the unit I could hear the water valve making noise, but no water was being dispensed. When I tested the ice dispenser the dispenser door slammed open and immediately closed, and doesn’t stay open. The auger is also not turning at all. I did hear the icemaker attempt to fill, but found no water in the mold (did However feel ice inside the mold that isn’t harvested). I found the drain screen not screwed in all the way causing a leak at the bottom. I found no water in the tub or basket when I arrived. The unit completes the cycle but doesn’t heat. I found the heater circuit good from the control. I found the heater-L1-neutral molex connector on the harness burning up at the control. Lights stayed on for approximately 2 mins and then turned off and I could smell the scent of burning metal. I unplugged the unit and removed the switch and put the old switch back in and contacted Techline. Spoke to mike and advised of my findings and he advised that the issue is with transformer getting too hot. I found that the plastic housing where the transformer is located was extremely hot. Mike advised that the housing is a fan blower that’s supposed to keep the transformer cooled. He suggested to check both the fan and transformer. When I removed the transformer, I found it had melted the fan blower housing but there was not fan inside the housing.
