Customer explained that the unit was not making ice at all and just quit a week ago. Placing it into service diagnostics and checked for icemaker error codes. Found an E2 for motor lost position. Tested unit ice maker motor and unit would not turn and eventually flashed that it could not complete the harvest. Replaced the icemaker and unit began to turn and fill on its own when the unit came out of diagnostics. Advised customer to give the unit up to 12 hours to dispense first ice.

Upon further inspection, the customer provided a video of the noise the unit was making and it sounded like the evaporator fan rubbing on ice. I removed the Evap cover and found where the blades of the evaporator were laid over under the fan blades which tells me that there was ice build up on the evaporator. When I attempted to test the Evap fan in diagnostics test #3, the fan did not come on. I removed and replaced the Evap fan/harness and retested and the unit is operating as designed. REFRIGERATOR WHIRLPOOL WRX735SDHZ02 "arrived on site to inspect refrigerator ice maker not working. Upon further inspection, I found the ice bin with ice in it. Customer advised that the ice in the bin is from the weekend and wasn’t working up until then. When I opened the left RC door, I found the ice chute gasket/seal not seated correctly. I adjusted it so that it creates a seal in between the ice bin and chute. While correcting the gasket, the ice maker was harvesting and dropped ice and then the fill tube dispensed water into the tray. I recommended that the customer watch the ice maker and if they see that it’s not making ice again to contact the office. I leveled the unit and checked the temp settings. No water leaks observed during service, job completed."

The unit was unplugged and defrosted when I arrived. I found the bottom of the RC compartment full of water under the deli drawer indicating a clogged drain line. I explained to mr that if this happens it can also cause the coil to frost over and not get the FC to 0 degrees also causing wet ice. The drain needs to be cleared. The customer mentioned the left door pops sometimes. Mr showed me the noise. It sound like the cam/bushing is dry. Ordering both and explained to mr that if they were bad we would add them on when we returned or it’s possible that it might just need some dielectric grease added.
