Arrived onsite for refrigerator not producing ice upon inspection I found the ice maker turned off. I turned it on and ran a full diagnostics on the unit. I found the ice maker filling and harvesting as designed during diagnostics. Temps in FC and RC checked good. All other functions in diagnostics passed including water dispenser. I inspected the evaporator and it had a good frost pattern with the evap fan running as designed . The customer stated that the RC temp settings had been changed by their kids at some point to the lowest temp which could have caused the reservoir to freeze up briefly not allowing water to make it to the ice maker. The unit is working as designed at this time and no leaks were detected during time of service.

I inspected the rc evaporator and found an ice ball forming on the left side and the drip pan was bent upwards. I put the unit through test 56 and found error code e2 ice maker motor can find home position. I put the unit it through a harvest cycle and it failed. I steamed out the ice ball and used shims to reshape the drip pan. I replaced the ice maker with new. I tested the unit and found it operating as designed. Job complete.

The customer advised me that the failure happened after about 3 hours of cooking using both upper and lower ovens at the same time. I cleared the error codes and preheated the unit to 350. Upon arrival I was able to verify that the bearings inside the evaporator fan motor in the freezer compartment were starting to get weak and causing the motor in it right then disassemble the freezer and found that there was no ice buildup around the fan causing the issue and that the motor itself was just going bad. I ended up replacing the evaporator fan motor and re-tested unit and found that everything is now functioning as designed call complete.

Arrived on site for refrigerator with an icemaker not functioning properly. Upon arrival I immediately found that there was snowy ice build up indicating a air leak of some kind near the icemaker and itÂ’s causing ice to form not allowing the icemaker to rotate in harvest Mode. After removing the ice blockage the icemaker immediately kicked on its own and started harvesting the ice that was sitting in the tree. I did verify that the cause of the air leak was coming in through the ice door shoe area of the dispenser. Office will need to reschedule after ordering Ice door separator assembly parts. Informed customer that Cincy icemaker is now functioning properly it should take 24 hours to fill the bucket up and to keep an eye on the air leak and make sure to clear out any ice between now and the return date of repair to keep the icemaker from breaking further.; ordrng 1 W11397167 (RETAINER ) and 1 W11423782 (ICE DOOR SEPARATOR)

I could see the bearing coming loose and hitting the front lip of the dryer. I replaced the bearing and adjusted the bulk head. The unit is now operating without the thumping noise. Job complete.

"Arrived on site for a refrigerator that’s not making ice. Inspected unit and work area. Tested temperatures in the freezer and refrigerator compartment. Temperatures were at -20° in the freezer section and 39° in the refrigerator section. Tested the freezer temperature with my temperature probe and found the unit sitting at -16°F. Found average icebox temperature sitting around 60°. Tested the ice box fan and found the fan not running. Tested the freezer evaporator fan and refrigerator evaporator fan and found both running. Tested the icemaker and icemaker harvest cycle and found the drop-down arm rubbing up against the icemaker causing some friction. I advise the customer that they would need an icebox fan and potentially an icemaker just to ensure that the icemaker does not get bent and break in the future.

Arrived on site for ice maker issue. Spoke to Ed with Whirlpool Techline. He had me ensure the rod was free and opening and closing the door to allow ice to travel into ice tray. It was good. Ed also had me check that the yoke was lining up with the back of the ice tray to allow smooth movement of the auger. Also checked out good. Ed explained sometimes the ice can get fractured while traveling into the ice tray and break causing crushed cubes. This is normal operation and there is no repair needed. Job completed. Arrived on site for range needing previously diagnosed parts. Upon arrival I ran a diagnostic check to see if there any air codes but the customer stated they clear the codes and that prior to arrival they were getting an F5E one error. I then found that the air code was indicating the door latch was having a problem and not being registered as operating after customer use self clean. After installing the door Latch I was able to reassembled the unit and tested I verified that the oven thermostat was only at 1.1 and the thermal overload device as well as bake element and broiler element pass continuity and ohms test as well. At this point I found that the oven would still not turn the light off after the door switch was activated and the control board acted as if certain inputs would not compute. We will need to return with a new control board to finish repairs office to reschedule once the availability of part is known. ; ordrng 1 W11256088 (cntrl-elec)

"Arrived on site for refrigerator not cooling properly and needing a previously diagnosed sealed system. On arrival and after disassembling the back panel to expose the compressor and sealed system I immediately found that the low side line return going back into the compressor across it up with ice from the compressor back up into the freezer compartment. I checked the pressure in the compartment and found at the frost pattern was nice and even, But on the freezer compartment evaporator the ice it built up to the point that it was blocking and hitting the evaporator fan motor. After running test 89,2,3,4,& 18 I found that the high-voltage board was not sending power down to the theater to defrost the ice like it should. Office will need to reschedule once the availability of parts is known and I didnÂ’t find a customer that the unit would need at least a 24 to 48 hour defrost in order to get rid of the ice and make the repair. Using my sealed system gauges, I tested the pressure readings at the low and high sides and found them within range with a load.
