I bought a Whirlpool fridge, which came with the manufacturer's warranty. Within 2 months, it went out. The french door section was warm to the touch and the bottom freezer was frozen over in solid ice where the air was supposed to come out and enter into the upper range. I called Whirlpool and they were on it. They of course covered the repair and had their local preferred vendor, Appliance Express, contact me to schedule service. My food was already spoiling. Did they try to get me in ASAP? No. They made me wait several days which meant I had lost $200 on food we had to trash. The guy came out and said the evaporator was freezing over due to a failed defrost control, so he replaced that. We had to manually defrost the fridge and wait another 24 hours for it to cool per their instructions (another 2 days...at a week at that point from the time it went out). It worked fine...until two weeks later when the exact same thing happened and we had to call them to come out. Again, couldn't come for a few days but luckily we didn't lose the food this time. We have a back up in place now for these things after learning the first time. Since it was going to be several days for them to come out again, we did the manual defrost and used a blow dryer for a quick fix (something the last repair man told us to do for the 1st incident). Waa laa! It was working again. I called them the day of the scheduled repair to ask if I should even have them come out since it was working better than before now. She said yes because it's obviously an issue that's recurring and needs fixed. So, he came out, did absolutely nothing, was very offensive and rude this time, and then left without fixing the issue. It was now again warm and stayed that way for another 24 hours and then some. My solution? We bought another fridge, and not a Whirlpool this time. And it works perfectly. We are returning the first unit and I'm letting everyone know the "quality" service this company [fails to] provide. I even sent an email letting them know of my experience and to contact me to discuss. I never received a response. Shows how much they "care". I've let whirlpool know as well.

Confusion on the detailed billing I did not feel very comfortable about. Parts did not match what was installed but somehow the corrected detail added up to the amount i paid. Labor went up to make up the difference in the parts over billing. Great work, just not sure I got what i paid for.

Found moisture buildup around fresh food evaporator. Performed diagnostics mode and found fault code for dirty condenser. Called GE tech support and spoke with Greg and he stated to order display control and it will come with sensor for the auto fill and will need moisture kit to divert moisture away from fresh food evaporator fan. Gained access to DSI control and removed failed control and installed new. Tested unit and found same failure occurring. Called tech support and spoke with Austin. Found water chute not reaching fill funnel on ice maker. Made correction and tested ice maker. Found operating as designed. Removed damaged door and installed new. Removed major ice on back panel and freezer bottom.

VENTHOOD UNKNOWN UXT4236ADS2 Arrived on site for vent hood light not dimming. Performed diagnostics and tested switch and found correct. Removed light bulb and found non dimmer light bulb in unit (see SD-QUICKPIC). Looked up insulation instructions and found light is not provided with unit. Tested all other operations. All tested good. Spoke with customer on replacement incandescent lamp.

Performed diagnostics mode and tested defrost cycle. Quoted customer for a clogged drain line with no parts.Gained access to evaporator drain line and removed ice. Corrected gasket on drain pan. Forced steam through drain line and found drain line opened up. Simulated defrost cycle by pouring water over evaporator and found draining. Performed diagnostics mode and tested thermistor and defrost. Found unit on ambient defrost cycle, switch to forced defrost cycle. Spoke with customer on defrost cycle and user care guide. All tested good, no water leaks detected.
